Includes return travel by luxury coach, and entrance to the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend on Sunday only.
Join us as we visit the small, beautiful village of Thriplow in South Cambridgeshire to experience the warm and friendly atmosphere of the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend, a charity fundraising event, run entirely by local volunteers. The Daffodil Weekend is a popular outdoor, rural event first started in 1969 to raise money for repairs to the church roof. Since then, more than £700,000 has been raised for charity. With a mix of over 120 craft stalls and food vendors, you can also expect to see the many different varieties of daffodils growing amongst the stalls, along the roadside and in the gardens. Other attractions include, children’s entertainment, dog show, classic cars, Morris dancers, flower festival in the church, a working smithy on the green, steam engine and live music, as well as, heavy horse dray rides, tractor trailer rides and rides on the miniature train.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a popular event and gets very busy at times. This is an outdoor event, please remember to dress accordingly to the weather and wear comfortable shoes. The event is spread throughout the village and a lot of walking is involved, mostly on paved surfaces though some stalls are located on uneven grassed areas and accessibility may be limited for wheelchair users in these locations. It is approximately half a mile between the coach park and the Church, there will be a free minibus service running between the two locations. As an outdoor event, there are limited places to sit, but there are three separate tearooms with indoor seating where you can rest and enjoy home-made cake, and a hot cuppa served by the volunteers. Sunday lunches or sit-down meals will not be available, but food ‘on the go’ from the various food vendors will be available throughout the day. Toilet facilities are located at the coach park and outside the village hall, as well as other locations.
