In preparing a quote for you, we do not just simply pluck a figure out of thin air. Several factors are taken into account.
First is the coach itself – a modern coach such as ours which meets the Euro 6 emission standards and is fitted with 53 reclining seats, USB charging points, WiFi, toilet, hot and cold drinks facilities, CCTV and is air-conditioned, cost in excess of £300,000 when new.
Then there are the licences for the vehicle and the company. C & J Coach Tours operate under an International Operators Licence with a Community Licence for the coach. There is the Road Fund Licence; Insurance for the vehicle and our Liability Insurance. The coach is also licensed to travel at 62mph (100kph) where applicable by being certified to Tempo 100 and Vitesse 100 regulations.
Next is your destination along with the route and mileage. Modern coaches may be environmentally friendly but they only do around 10mpg and with the ever increasing cost of fuel the route and mileage play an important part in the quote.
We also take into account drivers wages. So we look at the length of hire, when the driver needs to start and finish, bearing in mind the driver needs to clean the coach at the end of the hire. The start and finish times may also affect the work that can be done the day before and the day after the hire. Very early starts or late finishes mean the driver cannot always work the day before or the day after, so this will have some affect on the quote.
At C & J Coach Tours we try and plan for any unforeseen circumstances. However well a coach is maintained problems can and do occur. In order to give you piece of mind whilst out with us the coach has a mobile phone (hands free) so contact is available. Our office can be contacted 24 hours a day/7 days a week. We are members of CPT and their associated breakdown and replacement coach service and as we operate a Setra coach we are one telephone call away from assistance Europe wide with the Omniplus system offered by Setra.
Taking all these factors into account our quote may seem expensive. BUT if the quote is broken down per person, on a full coach you will be looking at only £10.00 to £15.00 per person, per day, which for what we offer, we think you will agree is not a great amount for a great day out.
