Includes return travel by luxury coach free time in Wroxham and entrance to the gardens.
Known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’, Wroxham and Hoveton emerged as the first centre for Broads boating holidays when the railways arrived in the late 19th century. Despite both villages being referred to simply as ‘Wroxham’, the majority of the facilities are actually in Hoveton including, rather ironically, Roys of Wroxham department store – the largest village store in the world. There are numerous cafes, pubs and takeaways for lunch. This afternoon we visit East Ruston Old Vicarage Coastal Garden, considered to be one of the most remarkable and enjoyable gardens made in recent years and reputed to be one of the top 50 gardens in Europe. This beautiful, 32 acre modern garden contains many garden rooms with herbaceous borders, gravel gardens, sub-tropical gardens, a box parterre, sunken rose garden, Mediterranean garden, Desert Wash and a large woodland garden. A place of beauty, charm and tranquillity that is truly unique.
