We visit Thursford every year for the Christmas Spectacular, have you ever wondered what goes behind the scenes? Join us today for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the UK’s leading Christmas show. Arriving late morning we are treated to tea and coffee in the Pavilion before joining the behind-the-scenes tour. Get up close to over 2,000 costumes and find out what has made the show a success over its 47 years. There’s a lot to discover. The behind-the-scenes tour is followed by a delicious homemade afternoon tea included in the price. Please state any dietary requirements at time of booking. Also included is entry to the Steam Museum, where you can explore the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs, collected by the founder of Thursford, George T. Cushing MBE. Listen to the resident organist, Robert Wolfe play the mighty Wurlitzer at 2pm. Why not take a ride on the fairground carousels and the gondola (tokens can be purchased for £3 in the stable shop before the 2.30pm rides) and do some shopping in the shopping village before we leave for home.
